Lucy Mae Kern Grayson, 103, died Thursday., August 3, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Bourbon County, KY., May 28, 1914, to the late Leo M. and Mary Jane Schanding Kern. She was a member of Elmarch United Methodist Church. Her husband, John W. Grayson preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Billy K. (Shirley) Grayson and John (Phyllis) Grayson and one daughter, Janice (Ben) Maybriar, all of Cynthiana, KY., eight grandchildren, Connie Duncan, Kevin Grayson, Amy Grayson Adams-Frakes, Matthew Grayson, Danny, Michael, Randy and Billy Sanders, seven step grandchildren, Bruce and Jon Maybriar, Beth Jones, Steve Maybriar, Jeff Jenkins, Kimberly Jenkins and Jennifer Ward. seven great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Services will be conducted 11 AM Monday, August 7, 2017, at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by Rev. Bobby Duncan and Rev. Jeff Jackson, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or Elmarch United Methodist Church.
