Joanne S. Tolle, 87, of Cynthiana, widow of Charles W. "Steamboat" Tolle, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Robertson County Healthcare Facility.
Joanne was born October 23, 1929 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a daughter of the late Niels S. and Esther Yensen Christensen.
She was a retired educator, having taught at Marshall and Northside schools, she was a former member of the Cheyenne First Christian Church, a member and former Sunday School teacher at Cynthiana Christian Church, a member of the Harrison County Retired Teachers Association, the National Educators Association, the Kentucky Educators Association, and she was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki (Bobby) Northcutt, Karen (Tommy) Mink, Mary Charles (Tim) Coy, all of Cynthiana, one sister, Dorothy (Larry) Gunton, Cheyenne, 6 grandchildren, Shelley Coppage, Jenny Ross, Stephen Northcutt, C. J. Clifford, Seth Coy, Colin Coy, 6 great grandchildren, Ashley Carter, Kyle Harp, Madison Coppage, Sarah Northcutt, Taylor Ross, Makenzie Ross, Jackson Ross, Henley Jean Clifford, Maggie Jo Clifford, one great great grandchild, Ivy Blair Carter, special niece, Ruth Antle, Cynthiana, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Cynthiana Christian Church, officiated by Dr. Larry W. Bishop. Burial will follow the service in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cynthiana Christian Church-Care and Share Committee.
