William Holland, 76, husband of 50 years to Wilma Smith Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at his home in Cynthiana.
Born August 2, 1947 in Breathitt County to the late Everett & Ellen Combs Holland, he worked for many years in the construction industry. William loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and fixing up cars in his younger years.
Additional survivors include 3 daughters: Sheila Wiley (Steve McCauley), Angie (John) Walters, both of Cynthiana, & Tina White Wagoner of Mt. Olivet; 4 brothers: Donnie, Herschel, Everett & Rufus Holland; 2 sisters, Margie Vaughn & Ruth Ann Arnold; 6 grandchildren: Ashlee Williams, Addison (Kayleigh) Wiley, Nathan (Elora) Williams, Jason (Karlee) White, Jenna (Bradley) Smith & Jared (Brynna) Wiley; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Darlene Holland; 2 brothers, Paul & A.C. Holland; and a sister, Laura Bishop.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 24th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Bro. Benny Northcutt with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jason White, Kendal White, Addison Wiley, Brennon Wiley, Nathan Williams, Bradley Smith and Brentley Smith.
Honorary bearers will be Roger Matthews, Jenna Smith, John Walters, Jared Wiley, Ashlee Williams, Jerry Worrell and his great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
