Wanda Lois (Whalen) Jones

Wanda Lois Whalen Jones, 89, wife of 60 years to the late Austin Jones, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Grand Haven Nursing Home.

Born September 24, 1931 in Harrison County to the late Russell & Anna Jewel Lemons Whalen, she was a retired employee of the V.A. Medical Center-Leestown and loved cooking & spending time with her family. Wanda was a deeply spiritual person and a dedicated, lifelong member of the Cynthiana First Church of God. Also preceding her in death were 2 sons, Daryl Wayne Jones and Austin Keith Jones; 4 brothers: Freddie, Eddie Joe, Dale & Wayne Whalen; and a sister, Phyllis Williamson. 

Surviving are her 3 grandchildren, Casey Keith (Amber) Jones, Peter Wayne Jones (Stephanie Hutchison) and Piper Leigh Christy; and 3 great-grandchildren, Luke & Peyton Jones and Kaiya Christy; along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. Earl Litman with burial following in Battle Grove Cemetery. 

Friends and family will serve as casketbearers.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Friday until the time of service.
