Theodore  William  Selin,  90,  passed  away  Sept.  3,  2007,   at  his  home.    He  was  born

Jan.  27,  1917,   in  New  Haven,  Conn.,   to  William  Edward  and  Edna  Riggs  Selin.   He  is

survived  by  his  wife,  of  60  years,   Betty  Ann  Poindexter  Selin.   He  was  a   graduate  of   Cynthiana

High  School  in  1936  and   a  graduate  of  Centre  College  in  1940.   He  was  a  member  of   Phi

Delta   Theta   Fraternity  and  played   four  years  for  the  Praying  Colonels.  He  taught  school   at 

French  Camp  Academy,   French  Camp,   Mississippi.   He  was  a  Veteran  of  World  War  II,

then  he  attended   Curtis  Wright  Tect  in  Glendale,  California.   He  spent  most  of   his  time  in

the  Navy  in   New  Guinea  and   received   an   honorable  discharge  in  1946.    He  attended 

U  of   K  for  a  short  while  and  on  June  7,  1947  married  Betty  Ann  Poindexter   of   Cynthiana,

Ky.    He  taught  school  in   Berry,   Ky   for   one   year,   then  became  a  partner  in  Poindexter

Lumber  Company   where   he   remained  for  37  years.

He  had   four  children,   Theodore  H.  Selin,  who  preceded  him  in  death,    Robert  P.  Selin,  (Connie)

Lexington,  Ky.,   Ann  S.  Dorsey, (Lyle),   Fleminsburg,   Ky.,  and  William  P.  Selin,  (Debbie),   Cynthiana,

Ky.,   He  had   five  grandchildren,   Jennifer  S.  Dinsmoor,  (Greg),   Springboro,  Ohio,   Will  Selin,

Russ  Dorsey,   Laura  Dorsey,  Parker  Selin,   Three  Step  Grandchildren,   Jeremy  Ross,   Tiffany  Ross,

Tara  Ross.   Two  Great  Grandchilren,  Alyssa  Dinsmoor  and  Gavin  Dinsmoor,   one  Step  Great 

Grandchild,   Kaydon  Custard.    Brother  in  law,   Robert  Poindexter,  (Jane),   and   nephew,

Bobby  Poindexter.

Services   will   be  conducted   1  P.M.  Thursday,   Sept.  6,  2007,  at   Drake-Whaley-McCarty

Funeral  Home,   by   Rev.  Larry  Bowald,   with  burial  in  Battle  Grove  Cemetery.   Friends  may

call   from  5  to  8  P.M.  Wednesday.    Memorials  may  be  made  to  Hospice  of  the  Bluegrass  or

Cynthiana   Presbyterian  Church. 

Active  Pallbearers  are   Will  Selin,  Russ  Dorsey,  Lyle  Dorsey,   Bobby  Poindexter,   Jimmy  Wilson

and   Parker  Selin.

Honorary  Pallbearers  are   Robert   Poindexter   and  Jerry  Scott.
