Shirley Mae Griffieth Worrell, 76, wife of 58 years to Jerry E. Worrell, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 at her home in Harrison County.
Born October 21, 1949 in Berea, Kentucky to the late James & Catherine Kelly Griffieth, she was a retired employee of I.B.M. in Lexington. Shirley devoted herself to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include 2 sons, Jerry Lynn (Evelyn) Worrell and Michael Ray Worrell (Natalie Doyle); a brother, Melvin Griffieth; 2 sisters, Judy Horn and Hazel Morris; 4 grandchildren: Nikki (Chris) Bennett, Michael T. (Adrianna) Worrell, Candyce (Chad) King & Brittney (Brandon) Martin; a step-granddaughter, Cheryl (Matt) Gamble; 7 great-grandchildren: Logan & Alexis Eversole, Kashton Martinez, Wyatt & Hadley King, Raelen Mae Martin & Atlas Worrell; and a step-great-grandchild, Skylar Gamble, along with several nieces & nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Kimberly Denise Worrell; a brother, James Edward Griffieth; and 3 sisters: Margaret Poff, Mary Griffieth & Jane Callahan.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 17th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Pastor Darrell Dowd with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Chris Bennett, Logan Eversole, Brandon Martin, Jerry Lynn Worrell, Michael Worrell and Mike Worrell.
Honorary bearers will be Nikki Bennett, Candyce King, Darren Lewis and Brittney Martin.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Friday until the time of service.
