Ruth (Maybrier) Fryman

It is with deep peace that the family of Ruth Evelyn Maybrier Fryman, 91, announces her passing into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.  Ruth was a faithful servant who loved God and her family passionately.  Ruth was born on November 20, 1934 to the late George and Lucinda Maybrier.  Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hargis Fryman Jr and son, Hargis Fryman III; sister and brother in law: Esther and Frazier Wagoner; and nephew Donald Lee Wagoner.  She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ruth Fryman (Darwin “Huck”) Bruce; daughter in law Cathy Jo Fryman; 3 grandchildren:  Hargis Dalton (Cassie) Fryman, Jaclyn Noel Fryman, and Logan Quade Bruce; 4 great-grandchildren: Abel Levi Shoopman, Maci Grace, Eden Noel and Lyla Rose Fryman, and several nieces and nephews.

A woman of faith and the heart of the family, Ruth shaped her loved ones’ lives by her tireless Christian example.  As a devoted member of her church, she modeled a true servant’s heart, volunteering in her community and reflecting Christ’s love to everyone she met. Ruth, and her husband Hargis, served many years at the First Church of God.  Most recently Ruth worshipped at the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church and loved singing and listening to “the barefoot preacher” Rev. Greg Kupar. 

Family meant everything to Ruth.  She was happiest when the family gathered for meals, games, parties, etc.  The past few years she has had a wonderful time eating, playing games, hunting eggs, and attending school functions with her great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her eternal life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 5th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. Greg Kupar.  Burial will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. 

Casket bearers are Darwin (Huck) Bruce, Logan Quade Bruce, Hargis Dalton Fryman, Abel Shoopman, James Malcolm Wood, and Jessie Wood, Jr.

Honorary bearers will be June Lee and Mona Lucky.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Monday.
