Phyllis Ann Watkins Moreland, 92, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Cynthiana, Kentucky and Goshen, Indiana, wife of the late George William Moreland, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born on May 2, 1925 to the late Mary Crates Watkins and Esla Kennedy “Doc” Watkins, in Cynthiana, Kentucky.  She married George William Moreland, Sr. in 1949, who preceded her in death.  She is survived by three sons: George William, Jr. (Mindy), of Key West, Florida, Kennedy Medford (Gwen), of Lexington, Kentucky and John Moss (Linda), of Martinsville, Indiana.  She is additionally survived by two grandsons, Andrew Kennedy Moreland and Steven Dean Satterfield, and by two nephews, John Crates Watkins, Jr., and David Lane Watkins, both of Louisville, Kentucky. 

Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Maryanna Moreland Satterfield, and her brother, John Crates Watkins, Sr.

A family Memorial Service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Battle Grove Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. James Episcopal Church, Goshen, Indiana, or The Salvation Army.
