Peggy Irene Dunn, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Dover Manor Nursing Home in Georgetown.
Born May 8, 1931 in Harrison Co. to the late Orlie & Rosella Hughes Dunn, She was a graduate of Connersville High School & Georgetown College, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was also a member of the Cynthiana Christian Church. A life-long educator, she began her career in Bourbon County Schools, then taught at Marshall City School in Cynthiana and retired from the Harrison County School System. Teaching was Peggy’s life! She loved and adored her students and was most proud of their many accomplishments.
Survivors include her sister, Ann Palmer Young, of Cynthiana; 3 nephews: Gary Wilson, Robert (Amy) Palmer & Steven Dunn (Lana) McKinley; 4 great-nieces and nephews: Emma Palmer, Emilee (Ray) Mizell, Jennifer McKinley & Samuel McKinley; and 2 great-great nephews, Sawyer & Harrison McKinley.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Dorothy Louise Wilson.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 25th at Cynthiana Christian Church by Dr. Larry Bishop & Dr. Tim Teater. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jimmy Fuller, Frank Henson, Louis Kendall, Jeff Kinney, P.D. McNabb & Joe Nichols.
Honorary bearers will be Charles Lee Caroll, Howard Fryman, Julian Gray, Shirley Kearns, Chapie Mastin, Dr. Joe Nichols & Dr. A.C. Wright.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
