Melvin Martin Bowman, 90 of Dryden Rd. Sadieville died Thursday October 26, 2006 at his residence.
He was a born September 22, 1916 a son of the late Colie and Effie Hutchison Bowman.
Melvin was a devoted husband and most caring and loving daddie and papaw. He was a retired farmer.
His wife Sara Frances Jenkins Bowman, a son Harold Wayne Bowman, a daughter Betty Bowman Bedford a daughter in law Sandra Swinford Bowman a grandson Paul Douglas Bowman 4 sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter Kathie Bowman (Jim) Williams of Murfreesboro, TN, a son Hillis Ray Bowman of Irvin, granddaughters Jennifer Michelle Ledford, Christina (Bobby) Grindstaff, of Cynthiana, grandsons Joseph Alan Bedford, Carlisle, Harold Wayne Bowman, Jr., Anthony Todd Bowman, David Lee Bowman, Kevin Bradley Bowman all of Cynthiana, brothers Perry (Mildred) Bowman, Lexington, Frank "Bo" (Mary Ann) Bowman, San Bernadino, CA, sisters Rhoda Cole, Hamilton, Ohio, Margaret King Bodden of Crystal River, FL and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Monday October 30, 2006 at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Larry Lee Jones. Burial will follow the service in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Harold Wayne Bowman, Jr., David Lee Bowman, Anthony Todd Bowman, Kevin Bradley Bowman, Joseph Alan Bedford, Justin Paul Bowman and Jim C. Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
