Maxie Jo Wyrick, 84, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Grandhaven Nursing Home.

Born December 31, 1940 in Harrison County to the late Orville Sr. & Anna Stella Cole Simpson, she was a retired employee of Bullard and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children, Yvonne (Bill) Hubbard, Danny (Beverly) Wyrick and Anna Wyrick (Mike Hill); 2 brothers, Newton “Sonny” (Betty) Simpson & James T. “Jimmy” (Marcia) Simpson; grandchildren: Jeremy (Pam) Hubbard, Josh (Melody) Hubbard, Brandi Wyrick, Danielle Wyrick & Nikki Wyrick (Marcos Gonzalez); great-grandchildren: Christian Bills, Devin Hubbard, Trinity (Trey) Russell, Gavyn & Rhett Hubbard, Noah, Aaliyah, Brooklyn & Ashlyn Wyrick, Eli & Abel Gonzalez, Logan Boone, Aiden & Londyn Wyrick; and a great-great grandson Hudson Russell, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Also preceding her in death were; 4 brothers: Orville Jr., Charles, Clarence “Ed” & Donald Gene Simpson; and 5 sisters: Louise Richardson, Anna Lee Whalen, Mary Catherine Simpson, Cora Mae Florence & Martha Bilyeu.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. Terry McDuffey. Burial will follow in Pythian Grove Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Steve Florence, Steven Florence, Jr., Jeremy & Josh Hubbard, James Lee Simpson & Danny Wyrick.

Honorary bearers will be her great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of services.
