Mary T. Gunsauley Baker, 87, wife of 67 years to the late Gene Thomas Baker, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at her home in Cynthiana.
Born October 28, 1937 in Harrison County to the late John T., Sr. & Rada Bell Mulligan Gunsauley, she attended Hour of Deliverance Church. Along with her husband Gene, they farmed over 37 years and she also ran the Lunch Box on Court Street for several years.
Survivors include her children: Donald Baker, Mary Lou (Dale) Halcomb, Ronnie Baker, Connie Baker Fryman, James (Tammy) Baker & Kelly Florence; and 15 grandchildren, Donnie Baker, Jr., Matthew Thomas Baker, Teresa Baker, Melissa Davis, Clint (Lacey) Balzer, Jimmy Baker, Makayla (Jordan) Fletcher, Rada (Bobby) Barrett, Laura Michelle Reffett, Kimberly Fryman, Eric Lee (Candice) Hutchison, Mary Beth (David) Minor, Jared Thomas Woods, Christina (A.J.) Best and Kay (Chip) Purcell, along with several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Johnny & Robert Baker; four sisters: Virginia Giles, Evelyn Roberts, and Ruth & Phyllis Winkle; five brothers: Earl Winkle, Harold Gunsauley, James Roberts, Junior D. Gunsauley & Clarence Ray Gunsauley; and a great-grandson, Denver Reffett.
Services will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 10th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. Sunday until the time of services.
Committal services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday in Battle Grove Cemetery.
