Lottie Mae Carroll Barlow, of Summerville, South Carolina, formerly of Cynthiana, Kentucky, joined the church triumphant on December 30, 2024.
Born September 29, 1932 in Harrison County, Kentucky to the late Porter and Lucille Carroll, she was also the beloved granddaughter of Edith Oder Lemons and wife of the late Gerald Bascom Barlow. Lottie was an accomplished musician and pianist and an avid reader. She obtained her BA degree in December 2003 of which she was most especially proud. She enjoyed baking, traveling, her bridge club, Kentucky basketball, and a host of other social activities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her 4 daughters: Charlotte Moore Charlton, Lexington, Kentucky; Patricia Barlow, Summerville, South Carolina; Marilyn Willhoit, Cynthiana, Kentucky; and Jimmie Johnson (Gary) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Lottie was blessed with nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the First Methodist Church of Cynthiana on Saturday, January 4th at 2 PM with burial immediately following at Battle Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
