Lina M. (Franklin) Dailey

Lina Melton Franklin Dailey, affectionately known as “Aunt Toots”, 101, wife of the late Boyd Dailey, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

Born December 17, 1917 in Harrison County to the late John & Edna Franklin, she was a devoted homemaker, a former nurses’ aide at Harrison Memorial Hospital and member of Indian Creek Christian Church. Lina put Christ first in her life as a baptized believer, professing Christ to all and dedicating herself to the church. She taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Ladies’ Aide & United Methodist Women at Elmarch United Methodist Church.  Lina occasionally entertained family & friends with Sunday dinners and gave open-door hospitality to all. She loved everyone and was a kind, gentle and encouraging soul to all she touched.     

Surviving are 2 sons: Edward A. Dailey and Donnie G. Dailey, of Harrison County; a daughter, Lucille Joyce England, of Rockvale, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren: Donna Sandidge, William H. Mastin, Amanda Beth Stratton and Jason Boyd Dailey; 7 great-grandchildren: Addison Stratton, Emma & Grayson Dailey, Quentin & Hailee Piland, Jeana Lattus and Gregory Sandidge; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Barbara Piland, and her 9 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Indian Creek Christian Church with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Thursday.
