Leroy Wayne Conner, 65, husband of Ruby Ritchie Conner, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at his home in Cynthiana.

Born September 19, 1959 in Harrison County, he was a United States Marine Corp Veteran and also served in the Kentucky Army National Guard Cynthiana Unit. A retired employee of the City of Cynthiana, Leroy enjoyed hunting & fishing and had a passion for coaching youth football. After retirement, he worked at the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter, where the cat room was named in his honor.

Other survivors include his mother, Alice Lynem; a daughter, Mary Markland;  a brother, CPT Samuel Haliburton; a sister, Vivian Custard; his beloved grandchildren: Dustin Brown (Caitlin Spencer) & Kristen (Matthew) Baker; great-grandchildren: Kenzie Baker, Lea Baker, Matthew Baker, Jr. & Lydia Brown; and a special friend, Paula Fuller, along with a host of special nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his father, Theodore Conner, 2 brothers and sister.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 25th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Juney Conner with visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon.

Casketbearers will be Mark Gross, Iran Hayden, Dan Haley, Keith Lewis, Larry Williams & Larry T. Williams.

Burial with military honors will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Tuesday August 26th at KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
