Leonard John Sayers, Sr., 79, husband of Sherry Rohm Sayers, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at his home in Berry, KY.

A native of West Virginia, he was born April 14, 1946 to the late John & Alta McDermott Sayers. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam, then retiring as a U.S. Army Reservist. After his military retirement, he worked as a loan officer for Navy Federal Credit Union.

Other survivors include his sons, Leonard John Sayers, Jr. of Berry, KY & Robert Scott (Karen) Sayers, of Ontario, NY; a sister, Nancy Sayers of Blackville, WV; 4 grandchildren: Kevin Andrew Sayers, Brittany Sara Jeanette Roberts, Benjamin Adam Sayers & Robert Scott Sayers, Jr.; and 7 great-grandchildren: Renee Beck, Leianna Beck, Patricia Star Beck, Dalton Beck, Belle Valentine Sayers, Alilyana Cosswell & Alyson Sayers, along with 6 great-great grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Charlie & Jack Sayers.

Services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, October 6th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with visitation from 5:00 PM until the time of service.

Burial with military honors will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 7th at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
