Lee H. Golden, 87, of Cynthiana, Ky., died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Lewis County, Ky., May 3, 1919, to the late E. Guy and Rena Belle Roberts Golden.
He graduated U of K Pharmacy School in 1944 and then went to the U S Navy. He was former
owner of Lee Drug and Begley Drug in Cynthiana and part owner of Dyche Drug in Corbin. He was
on the Board of Directors of Begley Drug Co. and First Federal Savings and Loan. He was Past
President of the Pharmacist Association and the Ky. Board of Pharmacist and helped to promote the
new office building in Frankfort, Ky. He helped start the Cynthiana Country Club with Doug McLoney,
was a supporting member of the First United Methodist Church and helped encourage the growth of
Cynthiana. Two sisters, Nancy Manley and M. J. Shrout and a brother E. C. Golden preceded him
in death. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary B. Golden, one daughter, Mary Lee Golden,
two Sons, Andrew (Drew) and James (Jamie) Golden, Brother, Harold Dean Golden and sister, Naomi
Jaster. Seven Grandchildren, Ed Golden, Mike Golden, Ryan Golden, Alexander Golden, Phoebe Golden,
Ava Golden and Mary Jo Leahy., Eleven Great Grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home,
by Rev. Wayne Sparks. Visitation 5 to 8 P.M. Monday. Memorials to First United Methodist Church.
Honorary pallbearers are Grandsons, Ed, Mike, Ryan and Alexander Golden, and Mike Leahy, Jimmy
Isaac, Charles Ray Cooper, Mitchell Wiley, C. B. Slade, Richard Wilson and George Frazier.
