Larry Wayne Wagoner, 81, of Maineville, Ohio, was the epitome of the life fully lived. Born in a fire house in rural Bourbon County, Ky, he would learn the value of guns for food and God as his guide. He was well known as Executive Chef and father of many, but lesser known to have ridden bulls in rodeo, parachuted out of planes in the army, self-taught artist and musician, traveled extensively worldwide, founding member of the Chefs de Cuisine Cincinnati chapter, and winner of Escoffier Medal for culinary excellence. He was a lover of the American Indian and even lived as one for a year on a reservation.
Nearest to his heart, however, was his family of 10 children, 18 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Wm. Clayton Wagoner of Nicholas County, Ky and Alma Burden of Bourbon County, Ky. Also, preceding him in death was a son, Jason Wilson.
Survivors include: wife, Ruth (Medert) Wagoner and children Beth (Doug)Dempsey, Walter, Lori, David, Amy (Gary) Newberry, Josie, Jacob, and Julianne Wagoner, stepdaughter Jamie Revis. He is also survived by brother Billy Ray, nephew Billy Ray II, and niece Kim Anderson.
An inurnment of the ashes will be performed at Wagoner’s Chapel Cemetery, Wagoner’s Chapel Rd., Cynthiana, Ky on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2pm.
