Judy Carol Kearns Sowder, 75, of Cynthiana, wife of William “Buck” Sowder for 54 years, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born June 1, 1949 in Harrison County to the late William H. & Ruby Martin Kearns, she was a 1967 graduate of Harrison County High School, worked for many years cleaning houses in the area and was a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church. Judy loved spending time with her grandsons and talking with her dear friend Ruby Lyons, who passed away recently. She enjoyed crocheting afghans that were donated to patients at Harrison Memorial Hospital and was a truly caring and kind-hearted soul.
Additional survivors include 2 daughters, Kim Sowder and Stacey (Tim) Mitchell, both of Cynthiana; a sister, Sandy (Tommy) Whitson, also of Cynthiana; and 2 grandsons, Tristan Mitchell & Braden Sowder.
Private family services will be held at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
