Joseph Virgil Stump, 87, of Grant Manor Nursing Home, Williamstown, Ky., formerly of
Cynthiana, Ky., died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at his residence.
He was born in Harrison County, Ky., July 9, 1920, to the late George C. and Delilah McCauley
Stump. He was a retired farmer and Blake and Johnson employee. Mr. Stump was an honorably
discharged Marine Veteran of World War II.
His wife, Frances Judy Stump and son Virgil Warren Stump preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, Ernest Stump, Lexington, Ky., one sister, Ruby Hays, Lake City,
Tenn., one daughter in law, Sandy Stump, Harrison Co., Ky. Grandchildren, Rachel Stump, Louisville, Ky.,
Bradley Warren (Kristen) Stump, Cynthiana, step grandson, Brian (Tracye) Halen, Cynthiana Seven Great Grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 11 A.M. Wednesday, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by
Rev. Lester Caldwell and Rev. Wayne Tolson, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may
visit at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday.
Active Pallbearers are Brian Halen, Trey Finley, Bradley Stump, Richard Stump, David Cordray,
Curtis Judy and Eddie Judy.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Halen, Jack McCauley, Ernest Stump, Anthony Doolin and
Tommy Anderson.
