John Blythe

John Leslie Blythe, 61, of Georgetown, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. 

He was born on December 12, 1963 to Dale and Betty McCoy Blythe of Lexington. John looked forward to spending his retirement fishing, one of his favorite pastimes. He especially enjoyed family game nights filled with card playing and laughter, as well as tending to his garden. John recently retired from Hillenmeyer’s, where he worked alongside many family and friends for more than 43 years.

John will be greatly missed by his wife, Angela Wagner Blythe of Georgetown; children, Tania (Evan) Sharp, Georgetown, and Matthew (Christina) Blythe, Cynthiana; his siblings, Kenny Blythe of Georgetown, Mike Blythe of Lexington, and Donna (Eddie) Kerns of Georgetown; grandsons, Christopher Dean and Anderson John.

John was preceded in death by his beloved sister-in-law, Karen Blythe, and his brother-in-law, Jeff Wagner.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 2nd at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Keith Wagner with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
