Jeanne Fightmaster Osborne, 96, wife of 61 years to the late Adrian M. Osborne, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home.
Born September 1, 1925 in Harrison County to the late Wilbert & Louise Kauffman Fightmaster, she was a graduate of Cynthiana High School and Georgetown College, and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Kentucky. She taught French and Latin for 32 years in the public schools of Somerset and Louisville, Kentucky, her last position being at Atherton High School. Jeanne had been a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers’ Association, the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum & Historical Society and the Cynthiana Baptist Church. She loved living in the country and greatly enjoyed reading.
Surviving are 2 nieces: Teresa Whitaker and her husband, Frank Schwartz, of West Suffield, Connecticut, and Karen (Roger) Payton, of Michigan, along with several great-nieces & nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Wilbert Fightmaster, Jr., and a sister, Mary Louise Whitaker.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23rd by Bro. Jeromey Northcutt at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends and family will serve as casketbearers.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Tuesday until the time of service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care, the Cynthiana Baptist Church or the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum.
