Harold Martin, Sr. Obituary

Harold Lee Martin, Sr., 92, of Cynthiana, husband of Velda Dillon Martin, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born March 20, 1933 in Mason, Kentucky to the late Evan & Goldie Bell Henry Martin, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a longtime educator and member of Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. Harold began his teaching career at Ft. Knox Elementary, then came to Harrison County as principal at Westside Elementary and later became the Finance Officer for Harrison County Schools. Later in life he conducted admissions testing for Toyota Motor Manufacturing. He was a good mechanic, an avid reader and had a wicked, dry sense of humor.

Additional survivors include 2 sons, Harold Lee (Donna) Martin, Jr. of Harrison County, & Donald Ray (Julie) Martin of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Sue Martin (Mike) Neltner; and 2 stepchildren, Bill Brent (Debbie) Pulliam & Margaret Lee Giesler, both of Cynthiana, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren & step-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were his first wife, Linda Kay Turner Martin, and 2 brothers, Kenneth & Wilford Martin.

In accordance with his wishes, Harold will be cremated and inurned at Battle Grove Cemetery.
