Harold Wayne Florence, 83, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at Grand Haven Nursing Home.

Born August 25, 1940 in Harrison County to the late Irvin “Preacher” and Augusta Herrington Florence, Harold was a longtime roofer in the Cynthiana area. 

He is survived by his former wife, Cora Mae Simpson Florence; a son, Steven Wayne (Mary) Florence; 5 grandchildren: Allen Maybrier, Alex Maybrier, Tonya Applegate, Candy Wolf & Stevie Florence; and 3 sisters: Patricia Shanklin, Marcia (Jimmy) Simpson & Annette Florence, along with several great & great-great grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Tony Florence; a daughter, Tina Maybrier;  a granddaughter, Crissy Evans; 4 brothers:  Irvin D., William, Ronnie & Melvin Florence; and 3 sisters, Anna Sue Fite, Barbara White & Nancy Lowery.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pythian Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as casketbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of services.
