Gussie Stakelin Fryman, 95, wife of 72 years to Howard William Fryman, Sr., passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at The Willows at Hamburg in Lexington.
Born March 3, 1927 in Scott County to the late William Buckner & Anna Jane Marshall Stakelin, she was a longtime employee of the Harrison Rural Electric Cooperative, former employee of The National Bank, and member of the Cynthiana First United Methodist Church. Gussie had been very active in her homemakers group, enjoyed gardening and taking long walks on the farm.
Additional survivors include 4 children: Howard W. Fryman, Jr., Richard Daniel (Amy) Fryman, Malinda J. Fryman and Kathryn (Robert) Ewalt; 7 grandchildren: Joseph William Fryman, Chase Fryman, Beau Moore, Julie Ellen Fryman, Kaitlyn Ewalt, Brad Ewalt & Zach Ewalt; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were 4 brothers: Logan, Clarence, Bill & Howard Stakelin; her sister, Nell Stakelin Gaines; and an infant sister.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8th at the Cynthiana First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service.
