Gerri (Carr) Poynter

Ruth Geraldine “Gerri” Poynter, 97, wife of the late Lloyd V. Poynter, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Baptist Health-Lexington.

Born October 28, 1924 in Harrison County to the late Milton & Delilah Criswell Carr, she was a longtime member of Benson United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Standard Products in Lexington.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Harold) Harpe, of Lexington; and 2 grandsons: Danny Harpe and Brian Poynter, along with a great-granddaughter, Kelly Danielle Harpe and a great-grandson, Aaron Fowler.

Also preceding her in death were her son, James Milton "Buddy" Poynter, a grandson, Robert Lloyde Harpe, and her brother, Dr. Martin Carr.

Graveside services by Rev. Ronald Harpe will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 14th in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
