Gene Collier Ewalt, Sr., 88, of Paris, Ky, formerly of Cynthiana, Ky., died Thursday, September 28,
2006, at the V. A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky
He was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, July 22, 1918, to the late Joe Frank and Kate
McKinley Ewalt. He was a retired Farmer and member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
Mr. Ewalt was an Honorably Discharged Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alta Faye Holmes Ewalt and two brothers, Woodrow
Ewalt and J. Frank Ewalt.
Survivors include one son, Gene C. Ewalt, Jr., and his wife Debbie, Paris, Kentucky and
one daughter, Kathy Ratliff and her husband, David, Paris, Kentucky, one sister, Gladys
Hubbard, Paris, Kentucky, Grandchildren, Chris Scott, Gene C. Ewalt, III, Katie Joe Ewalt,
Jacob, Sarah and Emily Ratliff, Great Grandchildren, Andrea Ewalt, Sydney Scott and Brooklyn
Scott.
Services will be conducted 1 P.M. Monday, October 2, 2006, in Battle Grove Cemetery,
by Rev. Sam Chanslor. Friends may call after noon Monday at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty
Funeral Home, 112 N. Walnut Street, Cynthiana, Ky. Memorials may be made to the
V. A. Medical Center or Disabled American Veterans.
