Lillian Faye Whalen Gibson, 78, wife of Billy Ray Gibson, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 8, 1945 in Harrison County to the late Raymond Clay & Jessie Harper Whalen, she was a retired employee of the Bullard Company, having worked there more than 30 years, and was a member of Beaver Baptist Church. Lillian loved being at home, spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Dexter.
Additional survivors include a son, Billy (Christy) Gibson of Lexington; a daughter, Jessie (Vincent) Tucker of Cynthiana; 2 brothers, Michael Whalen of Cynthiana & Raymond Eddie (Judy) Whalen of Berry; 2 sisters, Mildred “Mickey” Fitch of Nicholasville & Karen (Jimmy) Staggs of Mt. Olivet; her mother-in-law, Helen Mitchell of Winchester; 5 grandchildren: Tyler Gibson, Nicole Gibson, Jordan Riley, Makayla Tucker & Bryson Tucker; and 6 great-grandchildren: Greyson Gibson, Sophie Gibson, Zander Riley, Boston Riley, Nevaeh Tucker & Lily Daff, along with a large extended family.
Also preceding her in death were 3 sisters: Barbara Stone, Linda Fain & Nancy Hicks.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 23rd at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Bro. Kevin Strausbaugh with burial following in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Tyler Gibson, Kevin Hicks, David McCarty, Butch Moore, Jordan Riley, Bryson Tucker, Vincent Tucker and Christopher Whalen.
Honorary bearers will be Billy Earl North and the rest of her nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
