Ernestine F. “Jerri” Reis, 95, of Cynthiana, wife of the late Charles William Reis, Jr., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Cedar Ridge Health Campus.
Born February 26, 1923 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Ernest Ellsworth & Myrtle Olive Nail Fish, attended the University of Kentucky where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority, was a retired Registered Nurse Anesthetist, a former member of the Lexington Woman’s Club and member of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. Jeri was an avid reader and beloved storyteller who greatly enjoyed golfing. She was a passionate UK Wildcats fan and also traveled extensively around the world.
Survivors include a son, William (Susan) Reis, of Enfield, Connecticut, a daughter, Dr. Cheryl Reis (Tom) Robertson, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and 5 grandchildren, Brian C. Reis, Mary Kathryn Shen, Sarah Arrasmith Robertson, Laura Scott Robertson Paterline and Matthew S. Reis.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Fish, of Milford, Pennsylvania, originally of Lexington, Kentucky.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Cynthiana Presbyterian Church by Rev. Julie Olt. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home.
