Ernest B. Smith, Jr., 82, husband of the late Joyce Mae Buckner Smith, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home.
A Harrison County native born December 6, 1936 to the late Ernest C. & Louise Elizabeth Debruler Smith, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a lifelong farmer, owner of Ernie Smith, Jr. Bulldozing, and a member of the Leesburg Christian Church. Ernie also earned the distinction of Master Conservationist.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Kathy Smith-Burberry, of Cynthiana, and Lisa (Tony) Ramsey, of Bracken Co.; a sister, Wilma (William) Holland, of Cynthiana; 5 grandchildren: Andrea Smith Kendall, Allison (Mike) Dampier, Butch (Stacie) Burberry, Wesley (Elaine) Burberry and Audrey Ramsey; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Betty Feeback.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Rick Snyder and William Doan. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Butch Burberry, Wesley Burberry, Mike Dampier, Dalton Gates, Colton Kendall, Eric Kendall and Vance Kendall.
Honorary bearers will be Codey Burberry and Michael Dampier.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
