Dorothy Lee Bell Kitchen, 87, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Monday, October 2, 2006, at
Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus.
She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, September 17, 1919, to the late Harry Spillman
and Minnie Martin Bell. Mrs. Kitchen was a retired Secretary for Smith Insurers, and was a
member of the Curry United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and had been the
pianist and organist at the church for many years.
Her husband, Winfred E. Kitchen, three brothers, Ottis, Garnett Rees, and John L. Bell, and
two sisters, Christine Bell and Maxie Moss preceded her in death.
Survivors include two nephews, Larry (Shirley) Moss and Lowell Moss, both of Harrison County,
Ky., Two nieces, Bonnie (Warren) Smith, Carlisle, Ky., and Faye (Steve) Thacker, Frankfort, Ky.
Services will be conducted 1 P. M. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty
Funeral Home, by Rev. Joe Short and Rev. John Street, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Curry United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Active Pallbearers are Great Nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Craig Smith, Ruby Lenox, Richard Wills, Dr. Frank McKemie,
Luther Beckett and Phil Kitchen.
