LT Colonel (Retired) Donald Lee Wagoner, 81, formerly of Cynthiana, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Hospice Care Center at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

Born February 12, 1942 in Harrison County, he served for 21-1/2 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of Vietnam. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from American University in Washington, D.C. and had worked at the London (Ohio) Correctional Institution.

Surviving are his former wife, Candis McLaughlin, and 2 grandchildren, Shaelyn & Brenton Dove.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Maybrier, and his daughter, Amanda Loraine Dove. 

Services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, August 31st at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Dr. Ted Beam. Burial with military honors will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of service.
