Delilah “Dolly” Wheeler Brinkmeyer, 90, wife of the late Harry Edwin Brinkmeyer Jr., passed away peacefully Friday, July 26, 2024 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Born April 11, 1934 in Shelbyville to the late Virgil C. & Elizabeth Adams Wheeler, she went to Midway College in the seventies to fulfill her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked at Harrison Memorial Hospital and the VA Hospital for many years. Dolly had a kind heart, touching countless lives with her gentle care and unwavering commitment. She also enjoyed music, singing, dancing and a good laugh.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons: Paul Brinkmeyer & Eric (Tracy) Brinkmeyer, both of Cynthiana; 2 daughters, Lisa (Gary) Anspacher of Dunnellon, Florida & Julie (Jeff) Tafel of Louisville; a son-in-law, David Moss of Cynthiana; a sister, Jane Burnette of Mayfield; 10 grandchildren: Adam Brinkmeyer, Amos Brinkmeyer, Jason Brinkmeyer, Charlee Wiglesworth, Samuel Tafel, Leandra Tafel, Erick Tafel, Joshua Moss, Breanna Moss & Joseph Moss and seven great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Kay Moss; 2 brothers, Virgil Wheeler, Jr. & Stephen Wheeler; and 2 grandsons, Clay & Trevor.
A private graveside service will be held in Battle Grove Cemetery.
