Diana Chandler Moffitt Gardner, 92, a resident of Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus,
Cynthiana, Ky., died Friday, December 14, 2007, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born in High Point, North Carolina, September 4, 1915, to the late John
Walker and Margaret Davis Chandler. Mrs. Gardner was a retired employee of the
State of Florida having co-ordinated Welcome Wagon for the state of Florida, she
had also been secretary for the Govenor of North Carolina. She was a former member
of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point, North Carolina.
Her husband Winston Churchill Gardner preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Oscar Peyton Moffitt and his wife Jo-Ann, Monroe, Ga.
one sister, Alice McEwan and her husband, David, Cynthiana, Ky., Grandchildren, Shannon
Jones, Julie Moffitt Bright, Patricia Moffitt, Deidre Moffitt, Great Great Grandchildren,
Daniel Bright, Danielle Duchaine, Alesha Maahs, Alex Peyton Dowden, Great Great Grandchildren,
Anthony Bean, Reagan Duchaine, Tyler Duchaine and Kristen Bright.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in Battle
Grove Cemetery, by Rev. Wayne Spivey, under the direction of Drake-Whaley-McCarty
Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation.
