David Allen Herrington, 67, formerly of Cynthiana, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at his home in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Born March 24, 1958 in Harrison County, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked for many years as a respiratory therapist at hospitals and nursing homes in Indiana, most recently Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. David was a member of Shelbyville American Legion Post #70, an avid reader—especially of science fiction, and a dedicated member of Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are his mother, Janice Platt Herrington of Cynthiana; his sister, Susan Naziripour of Burlington; and his niece & nephew, Mariam & Camran Naziripour.

David’s father, Edward Allen Herrington, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 6th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Perry Fauts with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. 

Inurnment with military honors on the family lot at Battle Grove Cemetery will be held at a later date.
