Darrel Perkins Obituary

Darrel Perkins, 81, husband to Barbara Barnett Perkins for 47 years, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Born September 10, 1941 in Harrison County to the late Wilbur & Zella Mae Jones Perkins, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired carpenter and a lifelong farmer. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and a former Conservationist of the Year.

Other survivors include a son: Kenneth (Melissa) Perkins; a brother, Richard Perkins; a sister, Virginia Coy; and 3 grandchildren: Joseph Douglas Perkins, Taylor Reece Perkins & Emily Mae Perkins, along with several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were 4 brothers: Donnie, David, Paulie B. & Lewis Webber Perkins, and 2 sisters, Bonnie Snapp & Loretta Perkins.

Services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, November 30th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Bro. Bill Platt. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans' Cemetery North in Williamstown.

Casketbearers will be Mike, Gary, Paul Gene, Daniel & Donald Perkins and Mike Turner.

Honorary bearers will be Jason Hensley and Bobby & Kevin Perkins.

Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday.
