Christine (Robinson) Harney

Christine Robinson Harney, 89, formerly of Cynthiana, wife of the late J.T. Harney, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Born August 17, 1934 in Laurel County to the late Elmer & Verna Howard Robinson, she was a retired employee of 3M Company. Christine loved to cook for her family and the hands who worked on the farm. She was an avid bowler, earning a spot in the Kentucky Bowling Hall of Fame, enjoyed playing bingo, cards and board games, and loved to travel, especially to the casinos.

Surviving are 2 children: Dan (Jane) Harney of Georgetown & Brenda (David) O’Leary of Hanover, Pennsylvania; a sister, Dortha Rose of Lexington; 4 grandchildren: Rebecca O’Leary (Patrick Keegan), Kara O’Leary (Jan Bisaga), Beth Rosa & Sarah (Brandon) Hubbard; 5 great-grandchildren: Jack & Hailey Elsa Rosa and Ella, Aidan & Bailey Hubbard; and a special cousin, Lila Jones of Georgetown, along with several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Carl Douglas Robinson; a sister, Marjorie Keyton; and a daughter-in-law, Wende Harney.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as casketbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service.
