Charles Lewis McKinney Obituary

Charles Lewis “Papaw C” McKinney, 85, husband of the late Minnie Frederick McKinney, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana.

Born June 17, 1938 in Bourbon County to the late Russell & Anna Marie Turner McKinney, he was a 1956 graduate of Harrison County High School, a retired foreman with the Eaton Corporation, enjoyed lawnmower repair and was a member of Central Christian Church.

Surviving are 3 sons: Joseph Lewis McKinney of Frankfort, Paul Wayne (Kim) McKinney of Louisville & Gary Lane McKinney of Campbellsville; 2 daughters, Christy (Gary) Lail of Cynthiana & Pammy K. Jette of Washington State; a special daughter-in-law, Sandy McKinney; 2 sisters: Bobbie Baxter & Ann Gunsauley, both of Cynthiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Tammy McKinney; 4 brothers: Russell McKinney, Jr., James McKinney, Raymond McKinney & George McKinney; and 5 sisters: Emma Margaret Phillips, Ruth Phillips, Dorothy Groves, Mary McKinney & Betty McKinney.

Graveside services officiated by D.J. Denny will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16th in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as casketbearers.
