Brendan Joseph Koss

Brendan Joseph Koss, 29, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his home in Harrison County.

Born August 7, 1996 in St. Marys, Georgia, Brendan was a courageous Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy warrior whose strength, humor, and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Despite the challenges he faced, Brendan lived with remarkable resilience and a heart that was always open to others. He found great joy in computer gaming, where he could explore new worlds and connect with friends, and he shared his creativity through drawing and writing, often bringing his imagination to life on the page. Brendan had a love for Marvel Comics and anything that was Tim Burton related. Brendan had a special gift for making people laugh, brightening rooms with his quick wit and warm personality. His love for people and his ability to bring joy to others will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were blessed to know him.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted mother and life-long care giver, Angelique Foster Sybert, and her husband Jamie; his father, Robert Joseph Koss, Jr., and his wife Melissa; his siblings, Austin Pickett, Kylee Pickett, Austin Sybert, Mackenzie Sybert, Allison Ickes and her husband Austin  along with their children–  Karma & Axle, Kanae Koss, Joey Koss and John Forte; and his grandparents: John Foster, Robert & Susan Koss, and David & Loretta Sybert.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathy Foster.

The family will privately honor Brendan’s life.
