Alta  Lewis  Hatfield  Franklin,  88,   of  Cynthiana,  Ky.   died  Sunday,  September 3,  2006,  at  St.

Luke  Hospital  East   Hospice  Unit, Ft.  Thomas,  Ky.

She  was  born  in  Robertson  County,  Ky.,  December  28,  1917,   to  the  late  Charlie  and  Fannie

Workman  Hatfield.   She  was  a  member   of  the  Elmarch  United  Methodist  Church.

Her  husband   John  Garnett  Franklin  preceded  her  in  death   in  1998.

Survivors  include  one  son,  Karle  Wayne  Franklin,   Harrison  County,  Ky.   and  one  daughter,

Myrna  VanHorn,  and  son  in  law,  Robert,  Kenton  County,  Ky.    Five  Grandchildren,   Mark  Vargas,

Susan  Armstrong,   Gina  Grigsby,  John  Franklin  and  Kevin  Franklin.   Seven  Great  Grandchildren,

Ashleigh  Grigsby,   Rachel  Vargas,  Daniel  Vargas,   Trevor  Armstrong,  Allyson  Armstrong,  Blaine

Armstrong  and  Logan  Franklin.

Services  will  be  conducted  1  P.M.  Wednesday,  Sept.  6,  2006,   at  Drake-Whaley-McCarty

Funeral  Home,   by  Rev.  Don  Tipton  and  Rev.  Charles  Williams,  with  burial  in  Battle  Grove

Cemetery.  Friends  may  call   after  11  A.M.  Wednesday,   at  the  funeral  home.

Active  Pallbearers  are   Billy  Howard  Hatfield,   Robert  Franklin,  Brandon  Barcus,  Haviland  Argo,

James  Armstrong,  Mark  Vargus,   John  Franklin  and  Kevin  Franklin.

Honorary  Pallbearers  are   Gina  Grigsby,   Susan  Armstrong,  Robert  VanHorn,  and  Donnie  Dailey.
