Ada Moore Highlander, 91, of Sorrento, Florida, formerly of Cynthiana, Ky., died Tuesday,
January 15, 2008, at Edgewater at Waterman Village, in Mt. Dora, Florida.
She was born in Harrison County, Ky., May 29, 1916, to the late Leonard and Ethel Barnes
Moore. Mrs. Highlander was a member of the First Church of God and a retired seamstress
for Hansley Mills.
Her husband, Marvin Highlander and two brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat (John) Hibbard, Sorrento, Fla. three sisters, Letha Hill,
Christine Whitaker and Catherine Ritchie, all of Cynthiana, three grandchildren, Vickie (Terry)
Glasscock, Ricky (Beverly) Scott and Doug (Tammy) Scott, four step granddaughters,
Debbie Stivers, Denice (James) Colvin, Dana (Charlie) Wheeler and Diane (Jeff) Stivers,
five great grandchildren and five great great grandchidlren.
Services will be conducted 10 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2008, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty
Funeral Home, by Rev. Ted Hill, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call
at the Funeral Home from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday.
Active Pallbearers are Doug Scott, Terry Glasscock, Ricky Scott, Gene Wilson, Kenneth
Simpson and John Hibbard.
