Dr. Richard Wood Arnold, Sr., 67, of Cynthiana died Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Dr. Arnold was born February 7, 1950 in Harrison County, KY. a son of the late Lemuel and Louise Arnold, Sr.
He was a physician and had practiced in Harrison Co., Kentucky since 1978. He was a member, deacon and taught Sunday School at Cynthiana Baptist Church. Through the years Dr. Arnold was very active with youth sports, he was the team doctor for the Harrison County Thorobred Football team, was the coach for the A's little league baseball team, coached many little league teams through the years and was a former director and member of the Harrison County Recreation Department. Dr. Arnold was an avid, Reds, U of K and Harrison County sports fan.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Wood Arnold, Jr. and his brother, Lemual Arnold, Jr.
Survivors include one son, John Walcott Arnold, Lexington, 2 nieces, Allie Arnold Dale, Cynthiana, Emily Arnold Davis, Lex., great nieces and nephews, Weston Arnold Dale, Sallie Kate Dale, Hank Russell Davis, Hope Elayne Davis, sister in law Peggy Arnold, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Cynthiana Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Wayne Spivey and Dr. Larry W. Bishop. Burial will follow the service in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cynthiana Baptist Church.
