Raymond Wayne McGee of Lexington, formerly of Cynthiana, passed away on May 27, 2017 at U.K. Chandler Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Mr. McGee was born on June 10, 1933, in Cynthiana to the late Raymond Leslie and Margaret Alice Grayson McGee. He attended St. Edward School, was a Cynthiana High School Class of 1952 graduate and graduated with a degree in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University in 1955 and the University of Louisville College of Law in 1966.
Mr. McGee practiced law in Harrison County for many years, and he served as Harrison County Attorney from 1974 to 1977 and District Judge of the 18th Judicial District from 1990 to 1998.
Mr. McGee was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Leslie McGee, and sister, Patsy Sue McGee.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Janie" Robinson Duncan McGee, sister, Betsy Ann McGee, son, Patrick Wayne McGee, daughter, Jennifer McGee Hagood (John), and granddaughters, Abigail Stewart Hagood and Emma Catherine McGee.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
